The Dell Inspiron 24 3000 Series (i3459-1525BLK) is a fine business all-in-one, and the first we’ve seen with a really thin profile, but with a lot of screen space on the 24-inch full HD IPS display. It boasts a fast Intel Core i3 processor alongside enough system memory, storage and enough I/O ports to meet all of your needs, and it performs work and multimedia tasks admirably.
PROS: Good performance. Plenty of ports. Solid 1080p screen.
CONS: Limited storage. Limited internal storage.
The Dell Inspiron 24 3000 Series (i3459-1525BLK) $559.99 at Amazon is a more budget-friendly consumer all-in-one (AIO) desktop, that now affirms the blurring line between Dell’s consumer friendly Inspiron line and its high-end XPS line. Of course, expecting these to be distinctly apart is too much to ask, considering that Dell’s consumer line-up has always had a confusing array of Inspiron, Studio, XPS and the Studio XPS PCs. That leaves us with a product like the Inspiron 23. It’s a sharp looking 24-inch all-in-one PC with a 1080p IPS screen; it includes a quarter 4 2015 release dual core Skylake Intel i3-6100U, 8GB memory and 500GB storage. It is our latest Editors’ Top Pick for midrange business all-in-ones.
Design and Features
The Inspiron 24 is corporate black in color, and measures 15.2 by 22.7 by 1.5 inches (HWD) and weighs 16.2 pounds. At first glance, it looks like a lone monitor–with a basic height-adjustable stand that is silver in color which is quite OK for a business AIO. The stand is thick, silver, and there is a large hole in its middle for a little fit of design fancy. You can adjust the stand to view the monitor at a slight angle (about 30 degrees), and it allows you to swivel the monitor and switch it between Landscape and Portrait modes. Our review unit shipped with a wireless keyboard and mouse set.
As with the Apple iMac 27-inch $1,699.95 at Amazon , the Inspiron 24 is a non-touch display, but it still works well with the pre-installed Windows 10 operating system. It uses IPS technology which promotes viewing angles, therefore, videos look excellent on the screen and on the top of the screen you have a 2MP camera for video calls. The screen is surrounded by a thick black bezel that juts out quite slightly, while under the screen is an LED that blinks when the system is asleep and glows steadily when the system is awake.
Most of the I/O ports are stashed at the back of the desktop, next to where the stand connects the monitor, with a couple more on the left side. The ports are somewhat difficult to reach, but the fact that an above-average number of them is reachable is a definite plus. In addition to the AC adapter jack, there are a two 3.0 ports, USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output port, a 4-in-1 Multimedia Card Reader and Gigabit Ethernet. Connectivity comes in way of a long range 802.11ac wireless for better internet and Bluetooth 4.0 (dual band 2.4 and 5GHz) tied to wireless card.
The Dell Inspiron 24’s 2.3GHz Skylake Intel Core i3 6100U processor and integrated Intel HD graphics 520 (similar to the dedicated GeForce 820M GPU) combine with 8GB RAM to give the desktop solid performance overall. For day-to-day business use, the system suffices as a recommendable desktop PC, with performance that is at par with competing systems. Gamers will not find this unit appealing, but its expected due to the lack of a dedicated graphics card.
Still, old game titles are playable using medium settings, although with new titles the frames rates per second (FPS) begin to suffer. The Apple iMac with Retina 5K Display $1,699.95 at Amazon delivers better FPS for both gaming and daily productivity. Graphics capabilities are usually a secondary consideration in business settings, however, so don’t let these results put you off if you need an all-in-one for other uses.

It doesn’t come with a touch-screen like its other sibling the Dell Inspiron i5459-7020SLV, but all told, we think it’s worth it. We recommend the Dell Inspiron i5459-7020SLV Check on Amazon at Amazon over the Dell Inspiron 24 3000 Series thanks to its newer hardware and competent performance.
