Features and Use

The K55 Elite includes three brewing sizes: small, medium and large (6oz., 8oz. and 10oz.), chosen by pressing one of the buttons on the top of the machine.

This model also includes an auto-off power-saving mode (2 hours) that can be activated or deactivated by pressing the button on the control panel – this setting is saved after the machine turns off so you only have to set it once. It also comes with a new carbon-filter system.

It has Keurig Storage Drawer with ultimate space saving storage solution. Simply place your brewer on top of the unit and store your pods without taking up any additional space on your counter top. As an added convenience, the unique wheeled rolling system allows you to push your brewer forward and backward under your cabinets with ease. Holds 28 K-Cup pods.

The K55 Elite also feature QuietBrew technology, something we were pretty skeptical about at first. Compared to other older generations, however, we did notice this to be somewhat quieter.

It has removable drip tray allows for larger cups and travel mugs. It has a 48 ounces water reservoir allows you to brew several cups before having to refill. With it are also Simple button controls and indicator lights help guide you through the brew process, and make it easy to program the auto off feature.

Pros

  • One small but important feature is the removable drip tray. This allows you to use a taller mug/thermos/travel cup without having to hold it the whole time at an angle.
  • The reservoir holds 48oz which is a decent amount.
  • It makes great coffee every time, as long as you have the right K-Cups, you are almost guaranteed a well-brewed cup of coffee without grounds or that burnt taste you get after an hour of it sitting on the hot plate.
  • It also makes tea and other hot beverages (cocoa) without needing to be cleaned out first.
  • Offers substantial energy savings depending on your habits.
