Teclast X10 3G Phablet Review
The Teclast X10 3G Phablet is an affordable device that combines amazing features to offer a stellar performance. The 10.1 inch HD screen phablet operates on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS which is far much better than the older versions, supports 3G network and has an internal Standard SIM card slot. It is powered by a fast and power sufficient Octa-Core chipset running at 1.4GHz and full 1GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM.
The device also comes with a Dual Band 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi support for purposes of connecting to the internet. The device combines features that folks will find appealing, especially students for carrying out daily tasks such as emailing, web browsing and playing of games.
The device sports a black finish, a departure from the traditional white tablets they have been releasing into the market. The back of the tablet has a magnesium alloy metal finish which has a nice non-glossy feel and resistant to fingerprints. The phablet measures 10.24 x 6.42 x 0.38 inches and weighs 567grams. The device is portable enough to slide into your backpack safely without noticing that you have been carrying it all day.
The tablet is packed with a 5800mAh battery that will give you six hours of video playback before plugging it in for charging. This is far much better compared to what we saw on the Onda V820w 8-inch Tablet PC that promises of 4 hours of video playback.
Under the hood, the device runs on MTK8392 Octa Core 1.4GHz processor that is power efficient and offers fast performance. Combined with the 1GB of RAM included, the device is capable of multitasking such as opening of multiple tabs without slowing down or stuttering.
The Mali-450MP GPU also offers decent Graphics that makes it possible for the Tablet to run several games downloaded from Play Store. There is also 16GB of internal storage which is expandable with a TF card to 128GB that is sold separately to allow you store your files, videos, pictures and music.
The connectivity department hosts a Micro USB 2.0 Port, a micro HDMI port that lets you connect your tablet to larger screen display for an enjoyable watching experience, a micro SD card slot to expand your storage to a maximum of 128GB, a 3.5mm audio port for connecting your headphones and a DC charging port.
There is also Bluetooth 4.0 that lets you share and transfer data with other compatible devices or connect to wireless Bluetooth enabled accessories such as headphones to listen to your music or watch videos. The device also supports GPS, if you can find a place to fix it in your car this can come in handy in navigating new streets to locate where you are going. The 2G and 3G device supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n wireless internet
The 10.1 inch display phablet comes with 1208×800 resolution and a display ratio of 16:10 with clear pictures and an impressive color. The screen has IPS technology that offers wide viewing angles and the colors are bright and accurate. This means that you can watch your videos and movies comfortably while you have slanted the tablet somewhere on your desk supported by books or a stand if you purchase its cover with a lot of clarity.
The Teclast faltered when it comes to the camera given that its size and most features appeal to young generation who are filled with the glamor of taking photos, especially Selfies. Having a 0.3MP camera on the front and a 2.0MP camera on the back is a slap on the face to those who could consider buying this tablet.
But then choices have got consequences, perhaps for going after a budget priced tablet. The pictures taken are of low quality therefore not appropriate to use especially in capturing memorable moments. However, it can serve for a Skype change when you are desperate and without any option.
The Teclast X10 3G Phablet is a well packed that users will find power efficient and fast enough to handle all tasks thrown at it without stuttering. Most of the features average what mid-range priced tablet users are comfortable with including being unlocked for worldwide use. The introduction of IPS technology on such a device is a welcome move as it assures users of wide viewing angles.
The presence of a stable MTK8392 Octa Core 1.4GHz processor and the latest Android 5.1 resonates well with android lovers. Phablets are a good companion, but then manufacturers have a way of diluting the juice, in this case the camera plays the victim. However, if you are not so keen with the Camera, then the Teclast X10 3G Phablet could be an affordable tablet worth your consideration.
